National Guard’s 389th Birthday

National Guard's 389th Birthday

Join Us in Celebrating the National Guard’s 389th Birthday!

Each year on December 13, we proudly recognize the birthday of the United States National Guard—a force that has stood strong for 389 years. The National Guard’s roots trace back to 1636, when colonial militias were formed in Massachusetts, requiring all able-bodied men between the ages of 16 and 60 to be ready to defend their communities. This marked the beginning of a citizen-based military force that remains vital to our nation’s defense.

Since its founding, the National Guard has served as both a protector of the homeland and a critical support system for our military. Guard members are trained to respond to a wide range of emergencies, including natural disasters, humanitarian missions, civil unrest, and national security crises. both at home and abroad. They continue to live up to their motto: “Always Ready, Always There.”

At Zeiders, we are proud to recognize and honor the men and women of the National Guard. Many of our employees, families, and community members are connected to the Guard, and we are grateful for their selfless service and unwavering commitment to our country’s safety and resilience.

Happy 389th Birthday to the United States National Guard!
We salute your legacy, dedication, and ongoing contributions to the strength and security of our nation.
