Interviews can make people nervous.  We want you to be prepared and confident, ready to be your best authentic self.  So, we put together a few suggestions to help you be you.

How should I prepare for a phone screen?

This is an important first step in our interview process and your opportunity to develop a relationship with us. We encourage you to take this seriously, not everyone moves through this first step. Here are some phone screen tips.

• • • Set aside 30 to 45 minutes for this screen.
    • Get to know Zeiders, read about our company and what we do.
    • Review the position description again and be ready to ask questions about the specific work.
    • Practice your answers to questions you expect to be asked such as “why you are looking for a new role” and “what you have accomplished”.
    • Have examples of your success, and numbers to quantify your accomplishments when possible. This is an opportunity to provide a specific example that relates to the position, not a generalization.
    • Be focused and ready to talk. Schedule the call when you can be in a quiet place without distractions.
    • Keep your comments positive and concise. The time will go quickly and we want to get to know you.

How should I prepare for a video interview?

This is the next step in our hiring process for an in-depth discussion of your skills and expertise. You will meet with 2-4 members of an interview panel. We use a live video platform and do not record the interview session. You can participate from any type of device (computer, phone, or tablet) with an internet connection, camera, and microphone. Here are some video interview tips to help you be successful.

• • • Set aside 90 minutes for this interview.
    • Find a quiet, private, well-lit place, free from possible interruptions. Do not multitask during this time.
    • Test your equipment prior to the interview. We will send you specific instructions in advance.
    • Prepare specific examples. We will be asking you situational and behavioral questions about your background and your professional abilities.
    • Have some questions ready to ask the interview panel about the day-to-day work in the position.
    • Dress professionally, you will be on camera.
    • Let your passion shine through. We are excited to engage with you face-to-face and look forward to seeing your smile and sharing ours.

How should I prepare for an in person interview?

This may be a step in the hiring process instead of the video interview. A member of our recruiting team will let you know which interview is needed.  You will meet with 2-4 members of an interview panel. Here are some in person interview tips to help you put your best foot forward.

• • • Set aside 90 minutes for this interview on site.
    • Be sure to plan for drive time and potential traffic to arrive on time. Your interview will start promptly at the time specified. It’s never a bad idea to arrive a few minutes early.
    • Prepare some questions for the panel about the specifics of the work, day-to-day activities, and about the location.
    • Dress professionally. You will be meeting at the location where the position is available.
    • Give specific examples to questions asked when appropriate. We will be asking you situational and behavioral questions about your background and your professional abilities.
