12 Feb Celebrating Social Workers!
Celebrated each March, National Professional Social Work Month is an opportunity for social workers across the country to turn the spotlight on their profession and highlight the important contributions they make to society. The official theme for Social Work Month this year is “Social Workers: Leaders. Advocates. Champions.”
Zeiders recognizes the valuable services provided every day by social workers and thanks our behavioral health counselors and educators who provide services to those impacted by the challenges of military life.
Social workers also follow the National Association of Social Worker code of ethics, which calls on members of the profession to “enhance human well-being and help meet the basic needs of all people, with particular attention to the needs and empowerment of people who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty.”
Every day the nation’s 650,000 social workers act as advocates, champions and leaders who make our society a better place to live. Social workers have amazing tenacity and talent. They confront some of the most challenging issues facing individuals, families, communities and society, and forge solutions that help people reach their full potential and make our nation a better place to live.
