Celebrate Juneteenth

Silhouette of a face and “Juneteenth Freedom Day June 19” text in red, yellow, and green colors

Slavery was abolished in the United States of America in 1865. On June 19th, we remember the end of slavery in Texas and celebrate the black community’s perseverance, solidarity, and culture.

Juneteenth National Independence Day was declared a federal holiday on June 17, 2021, to commemorate the end of slavery and to honor African Americans’ culture, community, and achievements. This day should also serve as a reminder that our country must continue to reflect, change, grow, and learn from its past.
Happy Juneteenth, everyone!
