Overview:

Chapter 10 frequently presents students with one of their first opportunities to consider life goals and to establish objectives that will help them achieve their goals. As a class, students discuss an individual's range of needs and interests. Success is defined as achieving balance in one's life (family, friends, community, academics, extra curricular activities, etc.).

As the student begins the process of conceptualizing a business opportunity, it is important that they place the business goals in context with the other dimensions of their lives. Class discussions help students consider how the addition of career and business priorities affects their ability to achieve balanced personal goals.

This chapter provides a structured approach for establishing business goals that are consistent with other life goals.
