Who Are Entrepreneurs?

 

Goals:

  • Introduce students to the personal characteristics that are common to successful entrepreneurs
  • Review the background of successful entrepreneurs to identify how these qualities help them to succeed
  • Students self-assess personal experiences that indicate the presence of entrepreneurial qualities

 

Skills:

  • Understand the relationship between personal qualities and entrepreneurial success
  • Ability to succinctly identify and express key factors that contributed to a successful entrepreneur's ability to succeed

 

Overview:

Many students have the innate personal qualities needed to meet the challenges presented when starting a new business venture. The purpose of this chapter is to help students identify this potential and to encourage them to develop these qualities. Development of entrepreneurial qualities will help all students, no matter what their professional future holds.
